What happens when you don't get the right amount of sleep?

Working on Math Problems

Poorer Academic Performance

A person who is sleep deprived may have difficulty paying attention in class, remembering what they have learned, and performing well on exams. In addition, sleep deprivation can also cause irritability and moodiness, which can affect a person's ability to interact with their peers and teachers in a positive way.

Impairs Reaction Time

A persons reaction time will be severely compromised if he or she does not get enough sleep for the night. A night of complete sleep deprivation can significantly increase the reaction time of individuals.
The increased reaction time could have serious consequences, especially if one is performing activities that require quick reactions (Patrick, 2017).

Mental Health

Sleep deprivation can have a significant impact on a person's mental health. When a person doesn't get enough sleep, their brain and body are not able to function properly, which can lead to a variety of mental health problems. For example, sleep deprivation can cause irritability, anxiety, and depression. It can also impair a person's ability to think clearly and make decisions.
