Caffeine is chemically related to adenosine, which is a sleep-inducing agent. ( Mingxia Zhao 2020)
Sleep disorder is a highly prevalent disease that disrupts the normal circadian rhythm which negatively impacts psychological well-being and physical health [2]. There are several types of sleep disorders, among which insomnia, obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), and circadian rhythm disorders are more frequently studied [3]. ( Mingxia Zhao 2020)

Various Studies:
Diets affect sleep.
During sleep—particularly REM sleep—your body repairs and builds muscle while also breaking down fat for energy. Without enough quality sleep, you’re unable to build as much of that valuable muscle or burn as much fat.
-
it’s important to have a routine to be able to accomplish good sleep with good nutrition
Athletic Perspective:
Sleep and Athletes
The classic view of sleep is that it is a recovery process, with the circadian system regulating feelings of sleepiness and wakefulness throughout the day [28]. ( Doherty 2019)
-
For an athlete to perform at fullest potential there is a certain level of nutrition, sleep, and recovery that needs to become a set routine to perform at peak level.
-
Some athletes will eat a smaller amount of food before playing due to a level of anxiety they are feeling, and some might eat a big meal. It’s often a preference on how each athlete feels.
